1. Purpose
To provide step-by-step instructions for donning personal protective equipment (PPE) required before entering the controlled, clean and dry room environment.
2. Scope
This guide applies to all personnel and visitors accessing the clean and dry room in the battery production facility.
3. Required PPE (in order of application)
- Cleanroom coverall (hooded)
- Inner nitrile gloves
- Hair net
- Face mask
- Safety goggles
- Boot covers
- ESD-safe outer gloves
4. Entry Protocol
4.1 Preparation
- Remove all jewellery, watches, and personal items.
- Wash your hands thoroughly at the hygiene station.
- Dry hands using an air dryer or disposable paper towels.
4.2 Gowning Sequence (Don in the Gowning Room)
- Put on a hair net – Ensure all hair is covered.
- Wear face mask – Secure snugly around nose and mouth.
- Don inner nitrile gloves – Pull sleeves over wrist.
- Step into a cleanroom coverall – Start with legs, then arms. Zip up fully and secure the hood over the hair net.
- Wear safety goggles – Adjust the strap for a firm fit over the face mask.
- Put on boot covers – Step into each boot cover using the designated chair for balance.
- Put on outer ESD-safe gloves – Tuck sleeves into gloves to ensure full wrist coverage.
4.3 Final Check
- Use full-body mirror to verify no exposed skin or loose areas.
- Step onto the tack mat to remove debris from footwear.
- Proceed through the air shower (if present).
5. Prohibited Actions
- Do not reuse single-use PPE.
- Do not bring paper, pencils, or fabric into the cleanroom.
- No entry if PPE is incomplete or improperly worn.
6. Emergency Exit Protocol
- Exit via designated airlock.
- Remove PPE in reverse order and dispose in biohazard bins.
- Report any contamination or breaches to EHS immediately.
