Roadmap to Sweden 2022

The application season is upon us for the Autumn 2022 semester is open and it’s officially 46 days from now for the close of application. More importantly, the Swedish Institute Scholarship application is also out and time is running out fast! and some universities have also published their internal scholarships but you won’t know much about it till Feburary 2022.

So many applications! Lots of documentsto prepare! So little time!

I know it can get overwhelming and sometimes very stressful that’s why I’m writing to remind you about the important dates to keep in mind as you prepare for your journey to Autumn 2022.

Roadmap to Sweden 2022 – The perfect guide for those thinking of moving to Sweden to study next year.

On you mark

Sending in your applications, selecting your school and making sure you meet the requirement can be very daunting, so the first thing to do is to make a list of the possible courses you would like to apply for, check their requirements and then their specific requirements, make a list of the other specified documents that would accompany your application and if you’re a student from Nigeria, start making moves to apply for your Transcript.

Get Set? Go!

The university application period opened October 18th 2021 and will run for 3 months long which generally feels like a long time but if you let time to pass by without doing anything concrete you would see that you’re technically out of time and then one begins to feel the pressure. For me when I applied, I did every thing on time, I studied all the instructions, combed through every thing and made sure I submitted my application on time thereby letting go of the pressure that comes with submitting late. Leaving things to the last minute is never a good option and even the English proverbs says ‘We make hays when the sun shines”. Therefore, start working on the required documents for the programs you will be applying to.

Swedish Institute Scholarship

The call for applications for the SI scholarship is already out, together with the list of eligible programmes and templates of required documents and there’s no better time than now to start working on the SI document. The timeline for the SI scholarship is as below.
10 February 2022 – SI Scholarship applications open
28 February 2022 – SI scholarship applications close
28 April 2022 – Announcement of SI scholarship recipients

Since the SI scholarship is so competitive, it is advisable to be on the look-out for other scholarships offered by the university you have applied too and just maybe you will be lucky like me to be one of the recipient.
